Oshtemo Historical Society
The OHS was formed in 2004. The purpose of the OHS is to preserve and disseminate knowledge of the history of Oshtemo and the surrounding area.
Our Current Project:
DRAKE HOUSE
A major project of the OHS is assisting Oshtemo Township in the restoration of the heritage home of one of Oshtemo’s first settlers, Benjamin and Maria Drake.

Monthly Meetings
Educational Programs – 3rd Thursday of the month at 7:00pm-8:00.
General Meetings – 3rd Thursday of the month at 8:00pm-9:00pm.

We Have the Power to Impact Our Future, and We’re Doing Something About It
In addition to renovating and fixing up the Drake Farmstead house, we have, with Oshtemo Township and other partners, created walking paths and recreational areas like you can find in several other Oshtemo Township parks. Oshtemo Rotary provided funding to match some State of Michigan funding to build a pavillion, where residents can have picnics or gatherings.

Barn Construction
Our New Barn Building a barn was an early goal. It allows us to provide space for various events that could not easily be accommodated in the home stead. Our Current Project
A major project of the OHS is assisting Oshtemo Township in the restoration of the heritage home of one of Oshtemo’s first settlers, Benjamin and Maria Drake. The Drake Farmstead is located at 927 N. Drake Road and is being restored for eventual community use.
In January of 2013, the Drake Farmstead was placed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The meetings usually consist of an entertaining and educational program, business meeting, refreshments, and social time.
Visitors are always welcome to these open and free meetings.
Membership in the OHS is open to anyone interested in history, education, volunteering, and community spirit.
No residency, special talents, or skills are required.
